Partnering with families and educators to help kids thrive in their special education experience.
I worked with Amy for over a decade. Her passion for educating students, especially those who benefit from specialized instruction, is unparalleled. Amy’s talents are multifaceted; she is skilled at determining the root causes of academic and behavioral challenges, she is adept at creating effective lessons and approaches, and she has a very natural way in which she fosters positive and trusting relationships with her students and their families. Amy’s pedagogy and use of data to inform her instruction are stellar.
Amy inherently understands that navigating the world of special education can feel daunting to parents. Her communication style is clear and consistent. She helps families understand their children’s strengths, and she is able to deliver information to families in a meaningful, articulate, and compassionate manner.
If you are looking for guidance through the IEP process, consultation services, and/or individualized tutoring for your child, I wholeheartedly recommend Amy Wilson as a highly respected, experienced, seasoned educator who will most definitely meet your family’s needs.

Amy Wilson is by far the most professional and knowledgeable person that you could have on your side at any point in the IEP process. Her creativity on finding ways to help your child and encouraging teachers to implement those suggestions is unparalleled.

I can't say enough positive things about Amy's knowledge of the IEP process, special education law, and how to successfully work collaboratively with parents and educational staff. Her kind, calm nature coupled with her educational background and expertise make her an exceptional teacher and advocate for her students and families. She is the sole reason my son enjoyed going to school.

Amy is simply amazing. My daughter had such a great relationship with her over several years in elementary school. She helped my daughter with academics but most importantly, on social interactions with her peers.

“I worked with Amy at an elementary school for over eight years. She always gave 110 percent to the students and parents she worked with. She used her vast experiences while working with special education students of different abilities. She also consulted with experts in the field and researched new and innovative ways to work with her students. She and I collaborated on many students who had language based learning disabilities. She was able to incorporate speech and language and special education knowledge simultaneously. With Amy’s knowledge, expertise, and diligence, she will be an asset to anyone who choses to work with her.”

Our family was very fortunate to have Mrs. Wilson as our daughter’s Special Education teacher for several years. Mrs. Wilson was intuitive about her needs and was thoughtful and thorough in developing her IEP. She is highly organized, detail oriented and is a collaborative communicator with all members of the team. Mrs. Wilson’s professionalism, knowledge of the IEP process, and her background in special education made us feel more than confident that our child was in great hands. Mrs. Wilson has a true love and passion for helping children that shines through in all that she does.

Mrs. Wilson was the nicest teacher I have EVER met. Everyday in the mornings when she would call me in to come into her room to work I was so excited. I loved working with Mrs. Wilson because she was very patient ,and made you feel very special. She always makes sure you are paying attention before she explains something. She also makes sure you understand what you are learning and getting taught. If you do not understand something then she would go over it with you until you know what to do. She is very nice and caring. Everyday when she saw me she would greet me and ask how my day is going so far. I would NEVER want to leave when we had to because I had so much fun learning new things with her. I would read so many stories and learned so many new things! I learned about The History Of Halloween, About Gum and how they did not mean to make it ect. I really wish I got to stay longer having her be one of my teachers. She is definitely my favorite teacher EVER and will always be.

Amy is the person you read about and think you can only dream of to enter your life/world in special education. I first met Amy in 2005 and had the luck of having her support and transform the education and behavior of our daughter over two school years. After my first tear filled drop off and the home note that followed I knew Amy was the right fit for our family, not just our daughter. We learned so much about what worked for our daughter and strategies that would be helpful to address our daughter's challenges. There were so many creative, in the moment, parental guidance educational assistance offered I could probably write a book. Amy was as invested in our daughter's needs and surpassed even what we thought was attainable by expecting all that our daughter is capable of and helped her reach these major milestones. Amy is highly competent and she will invest in your child's individual needs. She will reach them with humor, consistency, compassion and the utmost respect. We are forever grateful that Amy is in our village.

Amy has been a mentor to me over the past five years, first as a special education aide and then as a special education teacher. She is passionate, skillful, and resourceful in everything she does. Her knowledge of the special education process from start to finish is thorough and outstanding. Amy's ability to eloquently explain the special education process to parents who are just starting the special education process is genuine and in a way a parent can understand. Having the opportunity to work with Amy will be a decision you and your family will not regret.
